It is my intention to provide my clients with professional and therapeutic services.
The following policies and procedures serve as a guide for first-time and regular massage clients
Scope of Practice
I am a licensed massage that offer different modalities of treatments (Swedish, deep tissue, sports, Thai, prenatal and Tuina) with the intention of positively affecting the health and well being of the client. I do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. I may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis. My services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions.
Documentations and Consent
Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. Before the massage you will be asked to sign the consent form stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures.
It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that the massage may be permitted. The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions.
Arrival
Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time to discuss a treatment plan that works for you. All massages have a specific time schedule, and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. If late arrival is inevitable, your service may be shortened to keep on schedule. The original treatment time will be charged. It will take 15 minutes to set up the massage table.
Cancellation/No Show
If you need to reduce your appointment time, reschedule, or cancel your massage session for any reason, I kindly ask that you provide at least a 24-hour notice. If you do not alert the therapist you are unable to show up for a scheduled appointment, I reserve the right to charge you, and you agree to pay the full amount for your missed appointment.
It is asked that you do not come to your session under the influence of alcohol or drugs as these things may mask your body's ability to receive work safely. If you have a cold, flu, sore throat, stomach virus, poison ivy, skin rash or anything contagious – please reschedule your appointment, or get a refund.
Respect and Boundaries
The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, or stop the massage at any time. The client will always be modestly draped in a professional manner.
Requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated. The treatment will be stopped, and the request will be viewed as a solicitation and reported to the proper authorities under the guidelines of the massage therapy policies and procedures. The client will not be rescheduled, and the full-service price will be charged.
Policy and Procedure
Some clients may experience muscle soreness the next day. This should not last more than two days. The client will come to the massage therapy appointment clean. The client will inform the massage therapist of any breaks in the skin, and these areas will be avoided.
Lotions and perfumes are not recommended prior to the massage as they can interfere with the lotions, creams or oils used for the massage treatment session. If you have an allergy to any lotion, cream, oil, etc., or if you require a special product, please let us know before your session. Thank you
